Being Patient. It's worth the wait.

As many you you recall we put our house on the market last April. It didn't sell & that's OK.
The Mr & I had very strong ideas on what style of home we wanted & it had to be in a specific area. We had become slaves to the MLS listings, with nothing turning up. Frankly to leave our current home, there was going to be no compromises on style & location.

Well my, friends one of the homes we had longingly had eyes for HAS JUST GONE ON THE MARKET!!!
The location is perfection, the property is huge & it has the mid-century modern design we have been craving.

The listing reads as a renovators dream, so we're going to go look at it & see if all the dreams we have in our mind can actually be set in stone.

In the meantime my "designing my new home in a completely different style" wheels have been spinning for the last 24 hours. Here is an home that I feel really represents what I am looking for. Calm colour pallet, lots of built in furniture, lots of windows, texture & very organic!

I found this L.A. home on Martha Stewart online but it did not give an credit to the designer. So If anyone knows please share so I can give credit where credit is due.

Happy Weekend!

  1. Timing is everything, so is pacing. One shouldn't really let themselves be paved over by their impatience, much as they'll just steamroll into whatever benefits and merits a new home can have. It's all about checking potentials and seizing them. However, no matter how long it takes, the right location more than guarantees great home living. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Hollie! All the best to you!

  2. Hollie,
This is the home of Toronto natives Jed Lind, artist and Jessica de Ruiter, LA fashion stylist (she's a BIG deal on the scene)in Silverlake ca ... I recognized her from when she was featured as Ms. Chatelaine a couple years ago. Jed designed the house... These photos are by Matthew Williams....there are more by douglas Friedman on c-home.com under lifestyles...article titled silver linings...love the bathroom sink! I'm curious about your house hunt...good luck!
