Christmas Wish Item #2 & Project Maple Ave Updates

I have always wanted a cutting board & I don't mean just any old kind, I mean a Big Thick Ass One!

I've been envisioning one that will look great on the counter at all times & if you ask me I think this one from William-Sonoma fits the bill perfectly.

I'm hoping that someone, like my husband...hint hint, will agree with this item & perhaps gift it to me. He will certainly see the benefit of this bad boy! You see I don't always use a cutting board, for no particular reason, just laziness I suppose & as a result of my laziness our quartz counter top has taken a bit of abuse, in one small area thankfully. So, if this beauty is always out I will have no excuse!

Speaking of counters Project Maple Ave. got some beautiful granite counter tops in the kitchen.
Here are the last sneak peeks until it is completed.

The solid mahogany front entry door was installed.

The stonework in the wine cellar began.

Lastly all of the decorative lighting fixtures have been purchased & here's just one for your viewing pleasure!

I'm off to see a new project, more on that Monday.

One of a Kind Art for B's room

If you recall, last July I took on making over B's room while she was with the grandparents for a week at the cottage.
I was & still tickled with the outcome, however I felt that something was missing on this wall.

I contacted this super talented & whimsical artist.

Darcy work her magic & created 2 pieces for B. The only direction I gave her was I wanted animals & 1 to definitely be a fawn & to use these $3 IKEA frames.

Here are the finished pieces.

The kitten & fawn complete the "empty" spaces that were calling out for some love.
I think the lamps shades I covered made a big difference too.

They speak perfectly to the personality of my little B.

If you are wanting some amazing & fun art you must get in touch with Darcy & visit her Etsy shop.
To get your hands a piece of original art is not as expensive as you might think.
Not only is Miss Darcy one of the sweetest people I have ever met she oozes fun, creativity & talent.

Also, if you are in the Oakville area you must sign your little ones up for one of the many classes she offers or even host a birthday party at her shop Tea with Gladys.
An upcoming event on October 26th is a "Boo-thday" Tea to celebrate Glady's birthday.
Yes, for those of you wondering Gladys is a real person!

Have a wonderful Thursday.
I'll be back tomorrow with my Christmas Wish List Item #2 & a few updates from #projectmapleave

Mobilia Furniture - High End Looking Pieces without Breaking the Bank

I received the latest Mobilia fall catalogue & I am loving some of the featured pieces.

Most of all I am loving this Brass Line floor lamp, it's not on the online catalogue so sorry for the not so hot photo.

For fun I put together a little design board action using some of the pieces that caught my eye.

Have an awesome one friends!

New Etsy Discovery - Silhouette Art by Le Papier Studio

Good Morning!
I like the simple & graphic nature of silhouettes. I came upon the works of Le Papier Studio while parusing Etsy, they use silhouettes to create everything from art to cufflinks, wedding invitations all the way to cellphone cases.

There is so much more to see so pay this little shop a visit here.
Don't you think grandma or grandpa would enjoy a treasure with the grandkids silhouettes?
These would also make great wedding or baby shower gifts.

See you tomorrow.

I endorse products that I am interested in, these posts are not paid for.

Blog Podium Bound

Tomorrow is Blog Podium & I'm going.
Are you?

Since I'm new to the world of blogging I saw this as a perfect opportunity for a few things.

1) Meet some new friends & finally put some faces to names.

2) Take part in some workshops, like how to get noticed & how to take great pics (hopefully with my phone!)

3) Take home some great info on how to improve my blog & make it the best it can be.

4) Listen to the key note speaker, Sarah Richardson.

I have been watching Ms. Richardson since her Room Service days.
One of the things I have always liked in Sarah's designs is that she repurposes.
Much like myself, Sarah is of the mind that, not everything has to be brand new & how a lick of paint and some amazing fabric can make something new again.

Here is a sprinkling of some of my favourite room created by Sarah & her team!

I'll be back Monday with a re cap of my first Blog Podium experience, wish me luck!

New items are in the Shop

Good Afternoon.
I'm a few hours later than usual but, as the saying goes better late than never right!

I have added some new items to the shop.
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have gotten a glimpse of the cosmetic bags that I have been working on.
I have so much remnant fabric, not large enough for cushions but too big to just toss in the garbage.
I can up with he idea for cosmetic bags while I was looking for a cute one for my purse & was striking out.

Well here they are, 20 to be exact.
These would make perfect stocking stuffers, hint hint!

I have also made a few new cushions.

A little Clarke & Clarke velvet & linen action. This one is my fave!

Grey Mohair

Black Mohair

Since I've already mentioned Christmas twice this week, I thought it would be OK to add some stocking to the shop too!

I'll be adding some more stockings over the next week weeks.
